| Welcome to BSharpTricks ! |
 |
| We believe that your search is over for getting the piano lessons that you need and want. BSharpTricks combines solid musical foundations, cutting edge technology, and innovative teaching techniques to get you playing great-sounding piano FAST! |
 |
 |
|
There are essentially
three ways to learn to play
piano... |
| |
- classical notational
- jazz improvisational
- and by ear
|
| Jazz improvisational means that you learn chords,
how to apply them to songs, and then learn to
improvise off of the chords of the song. |
| |
Lead instructor, Jeremiah Sibley, has over a decade
of teaching experience and has developed his own approach combining solid music theory with practical
applications to get you playing as soon as possible. Many of his former students now are the primary
keyboard player for their church, their band, or even a music director for an entire church music department.
The lessons are set up so that as you learn jazz improvisational, you are also given pointers to help
you eventually also play by ear. There’s nothing like just being able to sit down at the piano and play
whatever song as you would like! |
|
 |
|
 |
 |
 |
The core
of the
system is The
Series, which is Jeremiah
Sibley’s own, proven method of
jazz improvisational
piano instruction 87 videos lead the student from the baby steps of learning your notes and
first musical principles, through the basic three-note chords and how to
apply them, through learning and distinguishing between various types of 7th chords, and eventually to knowing 9th, 11th and 13th chords.
Each principle is clearly and slowly explained, shortcuts about how to
more easily apply what you have learned is given, and then practical
playing opportunities are presented using real songs and lead sheets.
Students who already know some musical theory or piano can jump into
The Series at their current level and continue forward. When the student
has completed The Series, they have a good command of chord theory and
are ready to move forward into more advanced studies. |
|
Welcome
|
The second part of BSharpTricks
is the Advanced Studies
which enable the student to
move forward into more
advanced territory as his or her own pace. |
 |
|
Once beginning students have completed The Series, they can turn to the Advanced Studies and choose their course as what to study
next. Advanced or even Intermediate players can dive immediately into the Advanced Studies right away and pick and choose their focus.
Want to move on to fast songs and replacing chords with great sounding, bluesy and jazzy tricks and licks? Then Pentecostal-style playing is the set
of lessons for you! Already play and wish that you had some help to make your playing sound better on the often simple, guitar-driven songs of
today’s praise and worship? Then dive into the Modern Praise and Worship genre study and learn all sorts of great tips, tricks, and chord
voicings that will improve your playing in this area greatly. Tired of songs that are based upon major mode and ready for the Jewish and Latin-style
of Minor Mode songs? Then the Minor Mode genre study is for you. Tired of playing nothing but chords in your right hand and wanting to learn some
jazz improvisation? Then Left-Handed chord studies and Scale studies and licks and tricks are for you. Already an advanced player and want to hone
your skills by learning how to put altered chords into your everyday playing? Then the Altered chord lesson set is waiting for you! And as
BSharpTricks grows and grows, the Advanced Lessons will go on and on, taking you everywhere that you want to go musically and guiding you in a
solid musical foundation. There is no made-up theory here, but rather you are getting a college jazz education at a fraction of the cost and presented
in a much more fun manner! |

The beauty of the system of
BSharpTricks is that all lessons are
video based and visually presented. |
 |
| All videos are shot with at least three camera views: one straight on as the instructor talks to you, one overhead shot carefully positioned
so that you can easily tell which keys are being pressed, and a telestrator view where the instructor interacts with the lead sheet and
material during the lesson. All videos were shot in HD quality with professional background and editing. This is not somebody setting
up their personal camcorder and throwing up some pseudo music theories on Youtube. This is competent and proven piano instruction
professionally shot and edited and carefully arranged so that you will
be set up for success!
All lessons can be watched and
watched again
– and paused and rewound – as much as you’d like or need. Most lessons have a pdf file that contains the lesson material and lead
sheets that can be printed and placed on your piano. All lessons are ranked according to difficulty level and focus. You can take numerous lessons a week or take one a month – the pace is up to you – and your Premiere Membership gets you complete access to everything on the site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all
from the comfort of your own home computer! The lessons can be made to be full screen so that it’s just like having your own personal
piano instructor in your home at your beck and call whenever you are
ready to learn!
The Forum
at BSharpTricks enables you to interact with other students, share
songs and tips and tricks, get advice, and to solicit help with some of
the lessons if needed. The lead instructor, Jeremiah Sibley, regularly
responds to The Forum and so not only are you getting first-class,
state-of-the-art video instruction, but you are also getting a personal
instructor’s involvement in your instruction. If you prefer, you may
reach the lead instructor by email, also.
BSharpTricks will continue to be a
dynamic source for your musical
education for years to come!
Plans are being made for guest instructors to present various
lessons, practical playing helps for individual songs, and even Hammond organ lessons in the near future. Do you play
piano a bit and always wanted to learn guitar? A special Guitar
Series is being developed that will be designed specifically for
students who have been through the Series for piano at
BSharpTricks. All your already learned theory will be applied to guitar
to enable you to play in church or a performance-style setting as soon
as possible. And, of course, the Advanced Studies will continue to
grow each month as we upload more tricks, licks, and genre studies
throughout the year.
There’s always something new at
BSharpTricks!
What would you expect to pay for all of this?
What would you expect to pay for competent musical instruction
catering specifically to church praise and worship music and the jazz
world? Most competent instructors charge between $15 to $45
for a weekly, half-hour lesson. Add to that total gas, driving time,
and the fact that you only get to see the instructor perform the
material once and only interact with him or her once in the week, and
you realize what a great value BSharpTricks is. For $20 a month –
that’s $5 a week – you get access to every lesson on the site and
can watch them as often as you would like. For the competent and
proven instruction that you are receiving, there is no better deal
anywhere! For a little less than a weekly Starbucks habit, you can
have everything you need to start playing piano as you’ve always
dreamed! A Basic Membership gets you only four video lesson so
that you can see how everything works and give it a try. But a
Premiere Membership gives you access to everything and is only $20
a month! It’s time to start; it’s time to begin furthering your musical
dreams, and BSharpTricks is just what you’ve been looking for.
