How to choose

By clicking on the each steps you can view the details of the each levels deals with

  • Steps
  • 1Level - 1

If you are brand new to playing the piano or have had only some basic instruction, it is recommended that you begin here. Also, if you play simply and do not understand why you play the chords that you play you should choose this level.

  • 2Level - 2

If you know all your major chords and are familiar with the
concept of I, IV, and V chords and yet are a little fuzzy on
how you know when to play minor chords or aren’t totally
confident in how to make or when to play diminished
or augmented chords you should start here.

  • 3Level - 3

If you know all your four basic triads and yet do not know
the difference between a sus2 and sus4 chord or are a little
fuzzy on how to use minor 6th chords or the “two chords”
    choose level three.

  • 4Level - 4

Do you know the difference between a major 7th and dominant
7th chord? How about the difference between a fully diminished
7th and a half diminished 7th? Do you understand how to know
which 7th to play in practical playing situations? If the answer
to any of these questions is “no” then you choose this level.
Understanding 7th chords is the key to demystifying more
advanced chords. If you are fuzzy about 7th chords, the more
advanced chords will forever seem hard, but if you know the 7th
chords competently then the more advanced chords will be much
    easier to grasp and play.

  • 5Level - 5

Do you know how to make a 9th chord, a minor 9th chord, an
    11th or a 13th chord? How about a 13th with a flatted 9th?
Do you know that many of these chords are interchangeable
and can be used in combination? Do you regularly use these
chords in you playing even if they are not written for you on
a lead sheet? If not, choose level five.
